What is Multiples of America

Our Mission

The Multiples of America aka NOMOTC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting families of multiple birth children through support, education, research.  In partnering with local support groups, health care providers, researchers, and educators, and with the highest standards of integrity, respect and professionalism, we endeavor to aid parents of multiples and to raise public awareness of the unique qualities of multiple birth families.

Support

Multiples of America promotes support and networking for parents of multiples. Opportunities for self-help, emotional support and parenting information are provided through local club and state organization meetings. Multiples of America’s Membership Department offers Support Coordinators to assist individuals and families with support and resource information for Single Parent families (singleparents@mutliplesofamerica.org), Higher Order Families -Triplets, Quads, Quints-(HOMsupport@multiplesofamerica.org), families with Special Needs (SpecialNeeds@multiplesofamerica.rog), Spanish Liaison (SpanishLiaison@mutliplesofameric.org), Affiliate Member Coordinator (Affiliates@multiplesofamerica.org) and Bereavement Support for those who have experienced the loss of a child or spouse (Bereavement@multiplesofamerica.org). Multiples of America also offers information and resources to local clubs and state organizations (NationalRep@multiplesofamerica.org and StateLiaison@multiplesofamerica.org) and provides IRS Group Exemption opportunities to local clubs.

Education

Multiples of America provides information to aid in educating those parenting multiples, the media and the public.

Multiples of America assists parents of multiples how find local clubs in their area; help to organize a new local club through our How to Organize a Local Club booklet which is free (request booklet info@multiplesofamerica.org); find resources for parenting multiples; assists media in gathering information/statistics; helps casting agents to find clients for movies, TV, ads etc. by posting their info on our website; and assisting researchers find subjects for their research studies by posting their requests on our website.

Multiples of America offers many publications to inform and educate members and the public. These include Your Multiples & You for those expecting multiples and new parents of multiples, Twins to Quints, our book on having and raising multiples (see below), Higher Order Multiples, Special Needs, Single Parenting and Bereavement resource flyers, Placement/Education of Multiple Birth Children booklet with practical advice and research on the question of keeping multiples “Separate or Together” in school and much more.

Multiples of America offers members two additional areas of information: our monthly newsletter, Multiple Messages (available in Members Only section) and our awarding winning quarterly magazine Multiples of America’s Notebook  which features expert columns, multiple birth related articles, club news and best practices, book reviews, current multiples research and research studies to participate in.

Twins to Quints – The Complete Manual for Parents of Multiple Birth Children: An extraordinary handbook and indispensable resource produced by more than 125 mothers (and spouses) of multiples, who have been through the joys and challenges of a reproductive phenomenon steadily growing in North America and around the world. Research

Multiples of America cooperates and participates in medical and psychological research studies/projects. These involve multiples and/or their families and are conducted by qualified professional researchers. The organization also conducts its own research, surveying the membership on topics that relate to multiples and their parents. Multiples of America is a charter member of the International Society for Twin Studies (ISTS).
