What is Multiples of America

Our Mission

The Multiples of America aka National Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting families of multiple birth children through support, education, research.  In partnering with local support groups, health care providers, researchers, and educators, and with the highest standards of integrity, respect and professionalism, we endeavor to aid parents of multiples and to raise public awareness of the unique qualities of multiple birth families.

Support

Multiples of America promotes support and networking for parents of multiples. Opportunities for self-help, emotional support and parenting information are provided through local club and state organization meetings. Multiples of America’s Membership Department offers Support Coordinators to assist individuals and families with support and resource information for Single Parent families , Higher Order Families -Triplets, Quads, Quints, families with Special Needs  Spanish Liaison , Affiliate Member Coordinator  and Bereavement Support for those who have experienced the loss of a child or spouse. Multiples of America also offers information and resources to local clubs and state organizations National Representative  and State Liaison and provides IRS Group Exemption opportunities to local clubs.

Education

Multiples of America provides information to aid in educating those parenting multiples, the media and the public.

Multiples of America assists parents of multiples how find local clubs in their area; help to organize a new local club through our How to Organize a Local Club booklet which is free (request booklet info@multiplesofamerica.org); find resources for parenting multiples; assists media in gathering information/statistics; helps casting agents to find clients for movies, TV, ads etc. by posting their info on our website; and assisting researchers find subjects for their research studies by posting their requests on our website.

Multiples of America offers many publications to inform and educate members and the public. These include Your Multiples & You for those expecting multiples and new parents of multiples, Higher Order Multiples, Special Needs, Single Parenting and Bereavement resource flyers, Placement/Education of Multiple Birth Children booklet with practical advice and research on the question of keeping multiples “Separate or Together” in school and much more.

Multiples of America offers members two additional areas of information: our monthly newsletter, Multiple Messages (available in Members Only section) and our awarding winning quarterly magazine Multiples of America’s Notebook  which features expert columns, multiple birth related articles, club news and best practices, book reviews, current multiples research and research studies to participate in.

Research

Multiples of America cooperates and participates in medical and psychological research studies/projects. These involve multiples and/or their families and are conducted by qualified professional researchers. The organization also conducts its own research, surveying the membership on topics that relate to multiples and their parents. We have over 115 Research Reports on studies that Multiples of America and profession researchers have completed which is available to review. Click here for Research Reports. 

Multiples of America is a charter member of the International Society for Twin Studies (ISTS).

Social Media

For those that are unable to connect face-to-face or want more opportunities to connect, the private and public groups available on Facebook have shown to be very beneficial to the individual member. There, they can seek advice from thousands of parents that know what they are going through versus the 20 or 100 they have in their local club.

Research Opportunities Available

Not only participating in surveys, but finding out the results are interesting and can help members discover facts and advice in raising multiples

 

Casting Call Opportunities

 Provide opportunities for members to get involved in TV shows/interviews, Movies etc.

Annual Conventions

With a new location around the nation each year, convention is a great opportunity for a networking trip, educational trip, a friend getaway or family vacation. Many members do any of those listed each year.

Paying it Forward

  • Being a member allows you to give back to those who may not know that our type of support exist (local clubs, state and National organizations)
  • To offer help support all parents of multiples as a thank you for all the support you received as your children were growing
  • Being with members from around the country who are in the same situation as you. You will network with those who have the same age multiples or who have already experienced what you may be seeking advice on.
  • Passing along the bonds, relationships and friendships countrywide that you have made with families of multiples.
  • To assist the new parents of multiples by giving back to them.
